Two Israeli F-16 fighter jets fired four missiles from Lebanese airspace, at around 01:11 local time on Thursday.

“The four missiles were destroyed by the Syrian air defense unit on duty, using the Russian-made Buk-M2E system,” the Russian Center for Reconciliation for Syria said in a statement. Russia Today, Friday (23/7/2021).
Videos and photos of the interceptions of the Zionist missiles have been circulating on social media. It was the second Israeli strike against Syria this week.
Earlier, on Tuesday, four Israeli fighter jets fired eight missiles into Aleppo province, striking a scientific research facility in the city of Safira. According to the head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation for Syria, Rear Admiral Vadim Kulit, seven of the eight missiles were shot down by Syrian air defense units using the Buk-M2 and Pantsir-S missile defense systems.
For Tuesday’s strike, Israeli fighter jets penetrated Syrian airspace through the At-Tanf area on the Jordanian border, which is controlled by the United States military.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has been launching airstrikes into Syrian territory for years, which Tel Aviv says is a self-defense measure aimed at “Iranian” targets in the country.
Damascus has protested the attack, calling it an act of aggression. Earlier this month, Russia, Turkey and Iran jointly condemned Israel’s “continued” attacks as a violation of “international law, international humanitarian law, the sovereignty of Syria and neighboring countries.”
