Russian Journalist Brutally Pressured by French Security at G20 Summit in New Delhi

In New Delhi, where the G20 summit is taking place, Russian journalist and editor-in-chief of the Russia News portal Ekaterina Nadolskaya was subjected to brutal pressure from the security of French President Emmanuel Macron.

The incident was reported by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Marina Zakharova.

“Ekaterina Nadolskaya was rudely denied access to the press conference of French President Emmanuel Macron at the G20 summit in New Delhi. Moreover, the French tried to break her phone. The reason for such discrimination – and this was directly voiced by an employee of the French press service – is that the journalist represents the Russian media,” Zakharova said.

According to the diplomat, “the vanguard of Western pseudo-democracies, this time in the person of France, has once again set an example of racial discrimination and violations of the fundamental principles of democracy.”

“Not only did Paris launch a real “witch hunt” in its own information space, virtually destroying the media presence of Russian broadcasters in its public sphere and creating unbearable conditions for the work of domestic correspondents. Now they are not shy about exporting such disregard for pluralism of opinions and media rights beyond the boundaries of the “collective West.” That is, to countries and regions to which France has been preaching morals about democracy and freedom of speech for decades,” Maria Zakharova emphasized.

The Russian Foreign Ministry demanded an apology from the Elysee Palace to the media representative, recalling that representatives of 11 French media outlets are currently accredited in Russia, all of which have free access to participate in press events of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

EADaily adds that a few days ago Ekaterina Nadolskaya brought the Russian flag to the international media center of the G-20 leaders’ summit. The journalist reported the reaction of her Chinese colleagues to such a step:

“The Chinese came up to me and said that I became famous in India after I was shown on some TV channel. 7 million people watched this story and wrote: “Thank you for the friendship with India,” because I said that long before the conflict in Ukraine there were good relations between Russia and India, friendship between our countries has existed for centuries.”
