It became known that Russian hosting providers began to enter the Turkish market, offering virtual computing power (servers and hosting) to local users and referred compatriots. For example, hosting provider RuVDS intends to provide services in Turkey using the data centers of the local provider Netdirekt in Izmir.
“As a target audience, we consider compatriots living in the country and local business structures”— told publication “Kommersant” founder and CEO of RuVDS Nikita Tsaplin. He also added that at this stage, the volume of investments amounted to about 20 million rubles.
Netdirekt, which has been operating since 2009 and has data centers in Izmir, Istanbul, Ankara and Frankfurt, believes that the partnership with RuVDS “will be mutually beneficial”. “The project will strengthen the cooperation of countries in the technology industry, opening up new opportunities”— considers the technical manager of Netdirekt Burak Yalti.
The source notes that since last year, Turkey has become one of the most popular countries for relocating Russians. More than 153 thousand Russians received a residence permit in Turkey in 2022. It is noted that RuVDS is not the first hosting provider to enter the Turkish market. Last month, the opening of a representative office in Istanbul was announced by Serverspace, which began operating in Russia in 2008 under the IT-Grad brand. In 2019, the company opened representative offices in Belarus, the Netherlands and Kazakhstan. Serverspace noted the intention to provide cloud services to Turkish companies and users.
