TASS, July 2. Russian goaltender Ilya Sorokin has signed a new eight-year contract with the National Hockey League (NHL) New York Islanders. The player’s agent Dan Milstein made the announcement on Twitter on Saturday.
Sorokin’s previous contract with the Islanders ran until the end of the 2023/24 season. According to him, the Russian goalkeeper received an average of $ 4 million a year. Under the new contract, according to the Capfriendly portal, the goalkeeper will earn an average of $8.25 million per year.

In the regular season of the 2022/23 season, Sorokin took part in 62 matches, in which his team won 31 victories.
