Goalkeeper of the Russian national football team Matvey Safonov will take part in a friendly match against Qatar.
As goalkeeping coach Vitaly Kafanov said, there are now two teams of goalkeepers in the national team. Three will go to the match in Qatar, two – in Egypt. Each of the young goalkeepers will play a match, writes “R-sport”.
– Matvey Safonov started the season well. He holds the bar high. The first number of the main team has not yet been determined. Safonov will definitely fly to Qatar and will play there if he does not get injured, – Kafanov specified.
Recall that two more representatives of Krasnodar also received an invitation to play for the national team in the upcoming matches – goalkeeper Stanislav Agkatsev and defender Sergei Volkov.
The Russian team led by Valery Karpin will hold a training camp from 4 to 12 September.
On September 7, the team will play an away test match with the Egyptian Olympic team in Suez. Another test match with Egyptian football players is scheduled for September 11, and on September 12, the Russians will play away with the Qatar team. The meeting will take place in Al Wakrah.
