The Yamal-Europe pipeline, which normally carries gas from Russia to Europe, was in reverse mode for the 14th day in a row on Sunday, Reuters reported, citing data from German network operator Gascade.
About 5.9 million kilowatt-hours of gas have passed through the Malnov measuring station on the German-Polish border in the eastern direction, and the amount is almost unchanged compared to the previous day, BTA reports.
About one-sixth of Russia’s gas exports to Europe pass through Yamal-Europe every year.
Russia’s giant Gazprom has not announced a capacity to use the pipeline today, according to Reuters. For January, the company has so far registered a transit capacity of 8.3 million kilowatt-hours at auction last month.
At the same time, the flow of Russian gas from Ukraine to Slovakia through the Velke Kapushani checkpoint fell again today. A volume of 275,827 megawatts / hour was registered, which is the lowest level since February 24, 2021 and well below the Sunday volume of 375,740 megawatts / hour, according to the Slovak operator Eustream.
Last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin accused Germany of reselling Russian gas to Poland and Ukraine instead of using it to calm European markets.
