/ world today news/ The Russian concern “Gazprom” plans for the new gas route through Turkey to enter into force by the end of 2016.
“We agreed to organize the work in such a way that we sign an intergovernmental agreement in the second quarter of this year and start gas supplies in September 2016,” said Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller in a statement after his visit to Ankara. The announcement was quoted by France Press.
On December 1, Russia abandoned the South Stream project, which was supposed to pass through our country, and plans to redirect its gas flow to the EU through Turkey. It is believed that the future project will be called “Turkish Stream”, through which 63 billion cubic meters of gas will pass annually for the EC.
