Details: It is reported that from January to the end of October this year, Russian gas accounted for 79.6 million cubic meters, or 1.2%, of the total supply. Information about specific importers is a trade secret.
That Russian gas has begun to flow into the Czech Republic is also evidenced by data from the transmission station in Lanzhot in the South Moravian Region.
At this border station, up to 40 percent of the gas imported into the Czech Republic currently comes from Russia, according to Trinity Bank chief economist Lukas Kovanda.
Sikela stressed that due to the fact that some countries still cannot do without Russian gas, its imports into the EU are not subject to sanctions.
Direct speech from the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic: “However, I would think it is right that consumers are informed if they buy gas from suppliers who buy Russian gas.”
For reference: According to preliminary information from the ministry, Russian gas has stopped flowing to the Czech Republic since the beginning of this year. The state replaced it with gas from Norway and liquefied gas LNG from the Netherlands and Belgium. In previous years, the share of Russian gas was about 97%.
“We need to consider whether to introduce restrictive measures at the national level or continue to coordinate our actions across the EU,” Sikela said.
