The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation responded to the words of US President Joe Biden, who called military and financial assistance to the Kyiv regime a “smart investment.”
The corresponding comment was published in her Telegram channel by the official representative of the Russian diplomatic department Maria Zakharova. She recalled that earlier in Washington they justified assistance to Kyiv as a “struggle for freedom and democracy.”
“Now it turns out it’s just a calculation. He has always been like this, they just deceived the world under the guise of values that do not exist for Washington,” the statement says.
Zakharova noted that wars have traditionally represented a “smart investment” for the United States. Since they did not take place on American territory, they did not care about other people’s costs.
“As they say, nothing personal, just business,” stated the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Commenting on the issue of American “dividends”, she quoted longtime US Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr., who said that a person’s self-development dies with him, just as his virtues fade from memory, but the dividends from the shares that he bequeaths to his children , live and keep his memory green.
“Apparently, everything has died and disappeared for those who judge dividends in blood in this way,” Zakharova concluded.
On October 19, US President Biden, in an address to the nation, said that supporting critical US partners, including Israel and Ukraine, is a smart investment that will pay dividends for generations.
He pointed out that the American military-industrial complex is increasing the production of new military equipment as weapons from the Pentagon arsenals are transferred to the Kyiv regime.
