Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov was rushed to hospital after developing ill health after arriving in Bali, Indonesia to attend the Group of 20 (G20) summit.Associated pressreported. However, the Russian government has denied the report.
The Associated Press quoted two Indonesian government officials as saying Lavrov was undergoing heart treatment. He was transferred to Sangla General Hospital in Denpasar, the capital of Bali. AP did not disclose the identities of the officials.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zakharova denied the report on Telegram, saying: “Of course this is fake news of the highest level.”
Lavrov had arrived in Bali for the G20 summit on Thursday after attending an Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) meeting in Cambodia over the weekend.
The Russian embassy in Indonesia did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
