As a result of active military operations in the Donetsk direction, units of the “Southern” group of forces liberated the settlement of Nevelskoye in the DPR and occupied more advantageous lines and positions.
The corresponding statement was released on March 12 by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. At the same time, the retreating Ukrainian troops did not even try to evacuate their wounded, abandoning them on the battlefield.
As he told the agency on March 13 RIA Novosti Advisor to the Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Igor Kimakovskythe wounded enemy soldiers were eventually captured.
“After the liberation of Nevelskoy by Russian troops, there are prisoners among the military personnel of the armed forces of Ukraine – mostly wounded, whom they abandoned on the battlefield. In some places they didn’t even try to evacuate the wounded,” the adviser said.
He also said that “a large number of corpses of Ukrainian soldiers are lying around the territory of the settlement,” which no one tried to evacuate either. In addition, a large number of weapons, especially Western-made, were left behind.
“Naturally, when fleeing, the enemy abandoned a fairly large number of weapons, including Western models. Among the interesting finds are Western-made grenade launchers,” said a DPR representative.
Kimakovsky explained that the taking of Nevelsky by our army under control complicates the position of the Ukrainian group in Krasnogorovka. Now Russian artillery is constantly firing at Krasnohorivka, suppressing the positions of the Ukrainian army, destroying their command posts and eliminating enemy personnel.
