Russian Forces Capture Avdiivka and Force Ukrainian Armed Forces to Surrender

A large number of Ukrainian Armed Forces militants were forced to surrender after the capture of Avdiivka by Russian forces. This was stated on the air of the TV channel “Russia-24» Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Denis Pushilin.

“There are quite a large number of prisoners. In general terms, I can say that the enemy was forced to surrender in order to save his life. And the information that I have is quite a considerable amount,” stated Pushilin.

He added that the Russian Ministry of Defense will provide more accurate information if it deems it necessary.

As reported EADailyFebruary 17, Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu reported to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin about the transfer of the city of Avdeevka under the full control of the Russian army.

Earlier today, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that units of the “Center” group of troops continued to develop their offensive over the past night, as a result of which they took full control of the Avdeevka coke plant. Russian flags were hoisted on the administrative buildings of the enterprise, and scattered units of the Kyiv regime troops continued their disorderly retreat. Russian troops continue offensive actions to further liberate the Donetsk People’s Republic.

Let us remind you that Avdeevka is located 13 km north of Donetsk. According to official information, the population of Avdeevka at the beginning of the 2000s was more than 37 thousand people.
