The occupiers are trying to storm Orlovka from three sides after the withdrawal of the Armed Forces from Lastochkino in the Donetsk region.
The speaker of the operational-strategic group of troops “Tavria” Dmitry Likhovy said this on the air of an information telethon. He spoke about the Russian Federation’s attempts to advance further and drew attention to the difficult terrain.
“The armed forces actually retreated from the village of Lastochkino, which is located immediately to the west after Avdeevka. There are difficult terrain conditions there. There is such a cascade of small reservoirs. And this qualifies as stabilization of the defense line, a certain leveling of the defense line. And in the future the enemy continues there attempts at offensive actions in the direction of the settlement of Orlovka. He leads them actually from three directions, but they are not successful towards Orlovka,” Likhovoy noted.
According to him, it is difficult to say how much the situation on the battlefield will change after the withdrawal from Lastochkino.
“But it must be emphasized that our units are doing everything, making every effort to destroy the enemy, who continues to advance with increased assault groups, not sparing their cannon fodder, having an advantage in aviation and artillery,” he said.
Likhovy added that the enemy’s superiority in aviation and artillery is evidenced by the statistics of an increase in the number of airstrikes (up to 45) and assault operations (up to 25) in the Avdeevsky direction. In total, an increase in assaults to 72 is recorded throughout the entire operational zone of the Tavria OSUV.
“Over the past 24 hours, the enemy’s total losses in killed and wounded in manpower in the operational zone of the Tavria OSUS amounted to 447 people. And in weapons and military equipment – 62 units, not counting drones,” the speaker emphasized.
In particular, 13 tanks, 32 armored combat vehicles, 2 artillery systems, 15 vehicles, 1 ammunition depot and 266 drones of various types were destroyed.
