In order to prevent the enemy from gaining a foothold, units of the Third Separate Assault Brigade and assault battalions carried out a combat operation to clear the city of enemy forces.
Losses of the occupiers
“In a short period of time, the enemy managed to prepare for a long-term defense and despite resistance and heavy fighting, the brigade’s assault groups inflicted inevitable losses on the enemy – about 100 occupiers of the 200s and 300s,” the brigade reported.
The military also reported that the Russians refused to surrender and were liquidated in the houses they occupied.
“As of now, Krasnohorivka is under the control of Ukrainian troops,” summed up the third assault brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The situation near Avdeevka and Marinka
Earlier, messages appeared on social networks that the occupiers had advanced to the outskirts of Krasnogorovka and even began to gradually enter it.
The Institute for the Study of War reported that Russian troops are trying to exploit the tactical opportunities created by the capture of Avdiivka and maintain a relatively fast pace of offensive operations before Ukrainian troops establish more cohesive and difficult to navigate defensive lines in the area.
Representative of the Tauride Defense Forces Dmitry Likhovy stated that Ukrainian soldiers continue the defensive operation near Avdeevka. This is facilitated by the terrain, in particular, the cascade of reservoirs in the area of the settlements of Tonenkoye, Orlovka and Berdychi.
