Attempts by the Russian Football Union (RFU) to organize a friendly match against Brazil in September this year did not lead to anything. This was made clear by the Secretary General of the organization Maxim Mitrofanov.
“If we were talking only about the away match, then it would be much easier to agree. We are negotiating specifically about the home match. We are negotiating with several African and Asian federations for September. We used to negotiate with Brazil, but at the moment – no, ”Sport-Express quoted Mitrofanov as saying.
We add that the RFU wants to hold two friendly matches of the Russian national team in September. One sparring partner has already been found – this is the Qatar team. Earlier, the Russian national team played friendly matches with even more “eminent” rivals – Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Iran and Iraq. These are the beautiful realities of Russian football, which, as you know, was expelled from all international tournaments immediately after the Russian attack on Ukraine.
