The Executive Committee of the Russian Football Union (RFU) abandoned the idea of moving to the Asian Football Confederation. The Russian propaganda publication Sport-Express reports this.
It is reported that all members of the executive committee considered that a move to Asia without guarantees from FIFA did not make sense. The RFU wants to continue its efforts to return to international competitions under the auspices of UEFA.
Let us remind you that after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, all Russian clubs and national teams from the Russian Federation were suspended by UEFA and FIFA from international tournaments.
