The Moskva is one of Russia’s largest warships, and Russia’s flagship in the Black Sea, said foreign expert Han ten Broeke. earlier today against RTL News.
The sinking of the Moskva is of great symbolic value for Ukraine. The ship was used to capture Snake Island at the beginning of the invasion.
‘Fuck you’
The Russian navy threatened to open fire, but the Ukrainians were not impressed. “Fuck you,” they replied over the radio. You can see that in this video from February 25:

According to Ukrainian media, the Moskva was hit by Ukrainian Neptune cruise missiles. Russia denied this, but the country did report that there was a fire on the ship, with ammunition on board exploding. The crew had to be evacuated.
The ship was towed back to a harbor but sank en route. It is not clear whether there were injuries or deaths in the fire on the 186-meter-long ship, which can accommodate more than 500 crew members. On the Moskva are more than 100 air defense missiles and several cannons.
