“Russian Fighter’s Dangerous Maneuvers in Black Sea Cause Turbulence for Polish Aircraft: Incident Report”

“The aggressive and dangerous maneuvers repeatedly performed by Russian fighters near Polish aircraft created a high level of turbulence and created serious difficulties in controlling Polish aircraft,” the ministry said in a statement.

After such actions, two combat aircraft of the Romanian Air Force and two Spanish Air Force, designed to carry out air police tasks, were alerted by the NATO Joint Air Operations Center in Torrejon, Spain.

“Although four planes were ready to intervene at any moment, there was no need for their intervention,” the Romanian Defense Ministry said.

The publication also reports that the Polish crew acted calmly and professionally “in the situation irresponsibly created by the Russian pilot, and was able to fully control the aircraft, after the initial loss of altitude caused by the maneuvers of the Su-35 aircraft.”

So, the Polish L410 Turbolet was able to land safely in the area of ​​the Mihail Kogelniceanu airport. None of the crew members aboard the Polish aircraft were injured in this incident.

The Romanian authorities are in contact with Frontex and the Polish authorities to investigate all the circumstances of this incident.

“Aggressive behavior, similar to that demonstrated by a combat aircraft of the Russian Federation against an unarmed aircraft that was carrying out the Frontex mission to monitor migration risk in the Black Sea basin, is completely unacceptable,” the Romanian Ministry of Defense emphasizes.

The military department also added that this incident is another evidence of the provocative approach of the Russian Federation in the Black Sea.
