The Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs invited the ambassador Pavel Kuznetsovin for a visit on Monday to discuss the death of the Russian opposition leader. More precisely, because the Ministry of Foreign Affairs considers Russia responsible for the matter.
The embassy considers speculations related to the death of the opposition leader unacceptable, as the autopsy report has not yet been made public. According to the embassy, the death of a Russian citizen on Russian soil is an internal Russian matter that others should not interfere with.
– Unfounded accusations of Russian ‘participation’ were categorically rejected, the embassy message on the Telegram messaging service.
The embassy’s line follows the view of Kremlin representatives on the matter. Among other things, the Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov and a spokesman for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova have expressed that the reaction of Western countries is disapproving.
