On a special flight from Romanian Bucharest to Moscow flew 40 employees of the Russian Embassy together with their families. This was reported by the Romanian publication Observator.
According to media reports, they left Romania due to Romania’s demand to halve the staff of the diplomatic mission. At the same time, some Russians left the country earlier, the newspaper notes.
In early June, it was reported that more than 50 employees of the Russian embassy in Bucharest had to leave the country within 30 days. The Romanian Foreign Ministry specified that the employees of the Russian diplomatic mission in Bucharest, together with their families, must leave the territory of Romania, and this decision “demonstrates the current level of bilateral relations in the context of the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine.”
