A new Russian drone attack on Romania’s border, on the Danube, took place last night. Reni port and Orlivka customs were hit, across the Danube from the Romanian city of Isaccea. There is a ferry crossing point for goods and passengers to Romania. A grain warehouse was damaged in Reni. And at Orlivka the ferry crossing was temporarily stopped. The attack was filmed from the Romanian shore.

Traffic through PTF Isaccea, completely closed due to Russian attacks

UPDATE 10.12 Traffic through PTF Isaccea was completely closed due to the attacks from Ukraine last night, and the two barges that ensure the crossing of the Danube are anchored on the Romanian shore, Coast Guard representatives announced.

Coast Guard representatives reported on Friday that due to the closure of PTF Isaccea, exiting traffic is being redirected to Galati Rutier.

“Traffic through PTF Isaccea is completely closed due to tonight’s attacks from the Ukrainian side (PTF Orlovka). Thus, exiting traffic is redirected to Galati Rutier. The two ferries that ensure the crossing of the Danube from one side to the other are anchored on the Romanian shore”, said the border police, according to News.ro.

The representatives of the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations Tulcea declared that there were no calls to 112, in the Isaccea area, following the drone attacks from Thursday night to Friday, from Ukraine.

UPDATE 10:00 Russian drones attacked the port infrastructure in the Ukrainian Odesa region, damaging, in the early hours of Friday, a grain silo in Izmail, regional governor Oleh Kiper said, and the ferry crossing point to Romania from Orlivka suspended its temporarily the activity, the Ukrainian press reports, according to News.ro.

Nine trucks caught fire at the scene, the governor wrote on the Telegram messaging app, adding that the fire had since been extinguished.

There were no casualties, Kiper said.

“As a result of the nocturnal attack by enemy drones on the port and border infrastructure, measures are being taken to stabilize operations at the Orlivka ferry crossing point on the border with Romania. No one was injured in the attack. Operations at the checkpoint have been temporarily suspended,” the border police service announced.

All vehicles are diverted to other destinations. Citizens are asked to take these temporary circumstances into account when planning a trip to or from Romania, the source said.

“You can choose other destinations, including through the car crossing from Reni. The resumption of crossing operations at Orlivka will be announced later,” the Ukrainian border police said.
