The leader of the Bi-2 group, Egor Bortnik (Leva), flew from Thailand to Israel; the group’s Telegram channel reports that the rest of the musicians were denied a previously agreed flight to Israel and remain in a migration prison.
Russia demands the extradition of three members of the team who only have Russian citizenship.
Seven musicians were detained last Thursday and fined for performing without a work permit.
The organizers of the concerts in Thailand confirmed that they made a mistake in obtaining visas, and also reported pressure from local authorities.
After paying a fine of $85, immigration police sent the musicians to a detention center in Bangkok.
The dissident rock band openly criticized the Russian invasion of Ukraine. If they are sent to Russia, they face imprisonment.
The Bi-2 group was created in Bobruisk in 1988. Last May, one of its founders, soloist Egor Bortnik (Leva “Bi-2”) was included in the register of foreign agents of the Russian Federation.
