The commander of the Akhmat-West battalion of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant Colonel Ismail Aguev, said on January 9 that air defense forces were repelling enemy missile attacks in the Belgorod region.
“The West-Akhmat battalion of the Russian Defense Ministry and related units are actively working to prevent such attacks. “All our fighters are actively working along the state border and on the line of combat contact, identifying enemy firing points, identifying the movements of enemy armored vehicles and their movements, inflicting fire damage,” Chechnya Today quotes Aguev.
According to the commander, during the New Year holidays the enemy attempted to cross the border.
“All these attempts were stopped. The enemy was unsuccessful and was driven back to their original position. Each soldier in his position understands the full responsibility, therefore, despite the weather conditions, at the moment in the Belgorod region there are frosts down to minus 20, each serviceman endures all the hardships with dignity, realizing his contribution to the common cause. The “West – Akhmat” battalion of the Russian Defense Ministry has established interaction and coordinated work with all units that operate in the Belgorod region. Calmness and a stable situation throughout the region depend on this,” concluded Aguev.
