Moscow has called the invasion of Ukraine a “special military operation” to “demilitarize” and “denazify” its neighbors. While Kiev and its allies called it an act of conquest for no reason.
The ministry said in a statement that Shoigu spoke to troops “on the front lines” and at “command posts”. However, it was not immediately clear when the visit occurred or if Shoigu himself visited Ukraine.
A short video posted with the statement shows Shoigu in a military helicopter and some aerial shots of empty ground patches.

The announcement came a day after Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with the country’s leaders, including Shoigu, seeking proposals on how Russia’s military campaign in Ukraine should proceed.
The conflict, Europe’s deadliest since World War II, has killed thousands, displaced millions and reduced cities to rubble.
