Russian citizen Timofey Kolchanov, who was part of the crew on board the MCS Aries vessel captured by Iranian special forces in the Strait of Hormuz, called his wife. She told about this herself “Izvestia”.
According to the woman, her husband contacted her from an unknown number, they communicated for eight seconds, after which the connection was interrupted. Kolchanov told his wife that everything was fine with him.
“There will be no connection, don’t lose him, there is hope that something will be decided in the coming days,” the woman quoted her husband’s words.
A representative of the crewing agency also contacted the spouse of the Russian citizen. He assured that all crew members were alive and safe.
Earlier, IRGC special forces seized the MSC Aries ship in the Strait of Hormuz. There are 25 crew members on board, including a Russian. The Russian Embassy in Iran promised to provide consular assistance.
