Russian Citizen Stabbed to Death in Istanbul: Attackers Tried to Rob Victim near Taksim Square

In the center of Istanbul, unknown people attacked a Russian citizen, the man died from a stab in the heart area. This was reported today, June 12, by local media.

“Information about the death of a Russian came yesterday around 16.00 from Turkish law enforcement agencies. The investigation is underway. We are waiting for the details of what happened in the near future, — reported in the Consulate General of Russia in Istanbul.

According to the Habertürk TV channel, the attack took place near the tourist Taksim Square in the Beyoglu district. Several criminals tried to rob a Russian, after which one of the attackers stabbed the citizen of the Russian Federation with a knife in the heart area.

According to the Telegram channel Shot, the victim of the attackers was a 40-year-old Vyacheslav Nechiporchuk.

“Four attackers stabbed a Russian in the heart while trying to take away his smartphone. The man was rushed to the hospital, but he died in the hospital.” TK said in a statement.

According to preliminary information, local law enforcement officers detained two suspects, two more are being sought.
