Russian cartoon was shortlisted for Oscar-2022

According to these lists, the Russian cartoon “Boxballet”, directed by Anton Dyakov, fell into the category of short animation. The film confronts rough boxing and graceful ballet on the screen, raising the theme of the difference between form and content.

But Kira Kovalenko’s film “Unclenching his fists” was not included in the short list of the “Best foreign language film” nomination, although nominated… And in general, this time not a single film from Russia was in this category.

In addition to “Boxballet”, our compatriots can only cheer for the actor Yura Borisov, who starred in the main role of the film “Coupe number six” – this picture was shortlisted from Finland.

We add that voting on these lists will take place from January 27 to February 1, 2022. The specific nominees for the award will be announced on 8 February. And the winners will be named on March 27 at a gala in Hollywood.
