Russian Car Owners Face 6-Month Wait for Spare Parts for Popular Brands

Recently, the strong rise in price of spare parts for cars has not had such a painful impact on Russian owners. It seems that for some car models, original components for repairs have to be ordered for a long time, reaching several months, and sometimes even six months.

Spare parts for engine or transmission repairs for popular automobile brands from the USA, Europe and China, such as Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Buick, Alfa Romeo, Porsche, as well as Changan, FAW and BAW, are now almost impossible to obtain immediately.

Previously, large car repair shops preferred to completely replace components and assemblies on such cars instead of repairing them. This trend has developed in recent years with the introduction of the European service standard in Russia.

However, there is now a change in this practice due to a significant increase in the cost of assembled units. This means that owners of such vehicles, faced with a shortage of spare parts, are forced to repair the unit rather than completely replace it.

But the inability to purchase spare parts from official dealers and long waiting times for the necessary parts lead to the fact that the car can remain stationary for six months.
