Russian boxing champion Sergei Sergeev told how he plans to dispose of the prize money for winning the national championship.

On August 26, Sergeev became the champion of Russia in the weight category up to 75 kg, in the final of the tournament in Khabarovsk he defeated Yegor Shapochansky. The boxer’s prize money amounted to 1.5 million rubles, and there are also bonuses for the coach.

– I already had a rule – if I think about money and prizes, I lose. At this Russian Championship, I didn’t think at all that I would win any money. Now I’m sitting here, talking to you, I don’t have the feeling that I won one and a half million rubles. I’m not going to call the federation and ask when they will come. I don’t think it would be faster to spend them. They took all the data for the transfer from me, in the same place not only mine, there the coach will also receive a percentage.

My father advised me to postpone it, I myself thought about the same. But in principle, I don’t have such a thing as to go and buy a used Toyota Camry as soon as possible and start driving it already. I’d rather save that money. I’m still renting an apartment in Kazan with a girlfriend, my parents live in Naberezhnye Chelny, I drive a black “four”, I have enough. I don’t know, so far something doesn’t really pull me financially, the same car – it will serve me for another four years, it takes me to training. I would rather buy an apartment and save something. Buy a BMW now with all the accumulated money and then spend the rest on its repair and maintenance? I’m still going to the “fourteenth” – said Sergeev “Match TV”.
