Russian Black Sea Fleet Successfully Repels Ukrainian Drone Boat Attack

Two ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet repel a Ukrainian attack with three Ukrainian drone boats, all of which were destroyed.

The patrol ships of the Black Sea Fleet, “Sergey Kotov” and “Vasily Bykov”, repelled the attack of three unmanned boats in the Sevastopol region, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The ministry announced that the Ukrainian armed forces made a failed attempt to attack the two ships with three drone boats, “to perform tasks to control navigation in the southwestern part of the Black Sea, 340 km southwest of Sevastopol.”

The Russian defense indicated that the three boats were destroyed, by the standard weapons fire of the Russian ships, while repelling the attack, adding that the two ships continue to perform their duties.

And last Thursday, the Russian Federal Security Service reported the arrest of a Ukrainian agent who was planning to blow up a Black Sea Fleet ship, which was equipped with high-precision missile weapons.

Two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were confiscated from the client, with explosive materials equivalent to 1 kilogram of TNT, and it is suspected that the man is leaking to the enemy information considered state secrets, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

And last June, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that it had thwarted a Ukrainian attempt to target a ship belonging to the Black Sea Fleet, and destroyed all the boats that participated in the operation.

The ministry said in a statement that the Ukrainian forces made a failed attempt to attack the “Priyazove” ship of the Black Sea Fleet, using 6 fast remotely piloted boats.
