Leading Russian biathlete Alexander Loginov was not included in the national team training groups for the 2023/24 season.

According to the vice-president of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) Pavel Rostovtsev, the world champion and two-time Olympic medalist refused to train as part of the team. “On May 5, Loginov told us that he would prepare for the season on his own,” Rostovtsev was quoted as saying. TASS.

Also, the 2017 world relay champion Anton Babikov is not included in the squad. “Anton Babikov and I talked on May 12,” Rostovtsev said. “According to the approved criteria for the formation of the team, Babikov did not get into the team for centralized training.”
