The Russian biathlon team has not debuted for a long time. Kirill Streltsov in his first race he almost became the best of the Russians, losing quite a bit to the team leader Alexander Loginov. Sasha finished 16th, Cyril 17th. Streltsov worked all four lines to zero and kept the speed on the last lap.
Perhaps the young Russian was helped by the fact that in Pokljuka he was reunited with his girlfriend, Olympic champion from Belarus, Dinara Alimbekova. When a close person is nearby, such successes are possible. The coaches believed in Cyril and were right. This result, apparently, allows Streltsov to perform at the mass start in Pokljuka. This means that Cyril can make an application for participation in the world championship in Antholz.
– Cyril, congratulations on a great debut. Is Biathlon World Cup cool?
– The sensations are most pleasant. I am very pleased with the debut. I always dreamed of a World Cup and run there, try my hand. Today I managed to look at myself and my rivals, compare strengths.
– You are considered a good shooter. Did you bet on this component?
– Yes, today we managed to shoot four zeros. To be honest, in all my life I only succeeded once. Today, at the main start of the season, I managed to work out perfectly for myself.

– More on juniors in the Hochfilzen pursuit. However, I do not divide the race into two and four lines. I can and ready to run any race. The main thing is to feel good.

– Apparently, you also get to the mass start. Will it not be difficult to run 15 km after the 20th?
– Of course I’m ready. I think that the tag will run easier after 20 matches. You still have to get there, although I understand that according to today’s result I have chances. And if I get into the race, it is very important to work on the lines. Mass start is a contact race, there will be slightly different conditions.
– Very worried before the start?
– No, there wasn’t a jimmy as such. I started the season with the IBU Cup, there really was a cuff. And then I started working along the way and now I feel comfortable. The fact that I had to wait a long time for the start due to the distant number did not interfere with the preparation at all. On the contrary, one could look at the scoreboard, learn how others shoot. Moreover, the sun was shining on the sight, and when we started, it was gone. It was interesting to see where the rivals shoot.
– At the World Cup, you were reunited with your girlfriend, biathlete Dinara Alimbekova. That helped?
– Of course it helps. For me, this is a native person. Support is available, one hundred percent. In general, I want to say that Slovenia is very beautiful. We live in Bled, we have a hotel right overlooking the lake. Insanely beautiful. It’s nice to come to the dining room and see such a chic nature. So far, everything is developing very positively.
