The air defense systems in the Ukrainian port city of Odesa have been activated against a Russian air attack, reports the region’s governor. At least one person has been killed.
According to the governor of the Odesa region, Oleh Kiper, the air force was deployed to ward off the airstrikes by the Russian forces. He also warned people against filming the clashes in the air.
– Unfortunately, one civilian has been killed as a result of the Russian attack on Odesa, writes Kiper in an update on Telegram.
At least 18 people, including four children, were injured in the attack, according to Ukrainian authorities.
Russia has attacked Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea for several days this week. Earlier this week, Russia withdrew from the grain agreement that has ensured the safe export of grain from Ukraine to the global markets.
