Two dead and ten injured in ‘large-scale’ attack on Kherson

Two people were killed and ten others injured in a Russian attack on the center of the Ukrainian city of Kherson. The local authorities have reported this.

The country celebrated the first anniversary of the liberation of Kherson by the Ukrainian army on Saturday, after the city was occupied by Russian troops for eight months. But Moscow’s army is not far away. Only the Dnieper River separates the Russians from Cherson, who bomb the city almost every day.

On Monday, the bombings left two dead and ten injured, the region’s governor, Oleksandr Prokudin, reported on the Telegram messaging service. A hospital, an administration building, a dozen houses and an ambulance were also “destroyed or damaged,” he said. The “large-scale attack” targeted the city center, an official from the military administration in Kherson confirmed.

Only 60,000 people now live in the regional capital, compared to 300,000 before the Russian invasion in February 2022, authorities said.
