The players of the Russian club Shinnik Yaroslavl and the Ukrainian team FC Minaj were in Antalya, Turkey, at a training camp. However, it was interrupted by a devastating earthquake, which has so far claimed over 35,000 lives.

The footballers subsequently had to stay in one of the hotels on the coast, as reported by the website Daily Mail and on Monday night, there was a conflict between the two camps, which is captured on video.

According to other resources a fight between the footballers escalated after the Russian players behaved inappropriately towards the hotel staff and then provoked the players from Ukraine.

We were not the initiators of the conflict, responded the sports director of the Russian team, Sergey Kulakov, to the skirmish, from which the footballers sustained visible bruises and some even fractures.

“I was just sleeping when I heard someone in the corridor of the hotel calling glory to Ukraine! I answered him: No, my friend, glory to Russia! And then everything started,” one of the Russian football players describes his version of the story in the video.

Subsequently, the police were called to the hotel to prevent further violence between the two groups.

“The cause of the clash was the disgraceful behavior of the Russian football players towards the hotel staff and the subsequent provocation of our players,” the Ukrainian team management said on their official Facebook profile.
