Russian Ambassador Disputes UK Department of Defense’s Claims on Ukrainian Counter-Offensive Successes

The data of the UK Department of Defense on the successes of the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) do not correspond to reality.

He stated this in an interview with the TV channel CNN Ambassador of the Russian Federation in London Andrey Kelin. According to him, the successes of Ukrainian soldiers are greatly exaggerated.

“I have read reports from the British Department of Defense that keep saying they are moving forward, but that is not true,” the diplomat said.

He also pointed out that a number of settlements that were previously captured by Kiev are now again under Russian control.

Recall that according to British intelligence, the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the south is held back by shrubs and small trees, gradually growing on the battlefields.

This vegetation is said to provide additional cover to help mask Russian defensive positions and make clearing minefields more difficult.

As reported EADailyaccording to the Russian Ministry of Defense, during the two months of the counter-offensive, the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the hostilities amounted to more than forty-three thousand military personnel.

And this is without taking into account the wounded and foreign mercenaries evacuated to hospitals in Ukraine and abroad, as well as military personnel who died as a result of strikes with long-range precision weapons in rear areas.
