“Russian airstrikes destroy Ukrainian ammunition warehouse, cause massive explosion”

The carefully planned operation destroyed dozens of tons of ammunition, with explosions going off for 40 minutes

“On the evening of April 8, six Su-35 fighters of the Russian invaders attacked Berislavsky district of Kherson region with guided air bombs and Kh-31 anti-radar missiles

As a result of the airstrike, five warehouse buildings were destroyed, as well as machines and equipment for transporting and storing grain, several houses were damaged”. This was reported by the operational command “South”, quoted by the UNIAN agency.

“The Russian invaders increased the total number of attacks for the day to 75, but their priority targets remain residential areas, social objects, places where the civilian population gathers. Ignoring the norms of international humanitarian law, the occupiers shelled hospitals, educational institutions, industrial enterprises. and agricultural enterprises”, says the official information of the Ukrainian command.

However, here is what the Russian sources report:

Against the background of the preparation of the Ukrainian troops for a counteroffensive, the Russian military managed to discover a warehouse of weapons and ammunition in the region of Berislav, Kherson region. In the carefully planned operation, the warehouse is hit by a guided aerial bomb that detonates tens of tons of ammunition and causes an incredibly powerful explosion.

On the videos you can see the moment of the impact. The explosion was so powerful that within a radius of several hundred meters, the objects of the Ukrainian army were literally destroyed by the blast wave and striking elements of the projectile.

According to local residents, explosions rumbled in the destroyed ammunition warehouse for at least 40 minutes, indicating that the Russian military had received reliable information about the weapons and ammunition stored in the warehouse.

Recently, the use of so-called “smart bombs” has been regularly registered, which is due to the fact that the air defense systems of the Ukrainian Armed Forces cannot effectively counter them. The Air Force receives information only about the launches, but cannot track the bombs themselves during their flight to the target, as they fly at a low altitude, military experts note.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced another Russian strike in Zaporozhye

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday that a missile attack was carried out near the city of Zaporizhia against fuel depots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

A high-precision missile strike has destroyed a warehouse with 70,000 tons of fuel accumulated to support the actions of the VSU group in Donbas, including the alleged counteroffensive of the Ukrainian army.

The blow was struck about two o’clock in the morning, and the explosion was heard a great distance away. The fire itself was extinguished only in the morning. There is still no information on casualties and damage.

The destruction of the fuel depot could seriously affect the actions of the Ukrainian armed forces in the Donbas and will require additional efforts to provide fuel for the army, which threatens the offensive planned by Kiev, analysts say.
