Russia has carried out airstrikes at several locations in the eastern Ukrainian city of Selydove. That reports Ukrainian District Governor Filashkin on his Telegram account. According to Ukrainian officials, the town, which had a population of about 24,000 before the Russian invasion, has come under increasing Russian fire in recent weeks.

Filashkin mentions two air raids on his page. The first is said to have occurred late Tuesday evening and destroyed twelve apartments in an apartment building. According to the governor, four people were injured, including two children.

The second air raid came after midnight and damaged a wing of a hospital, Filashkin writes. In a video he posted with the message, blown-out windows and cracked walls can be seen in a building that appears to be a medical location. In the images, patients lie and sit on beds.

Filashkin has heard that at least three people are still buried under the rubble at the hospital, including a child. He said that a hundred patients will be transferred to other hospitals in the Donetsk region.

Last week too

As far as we know, Russia has not yet responded to the reports from Ukraine. Russia occupies more than half of the Donetsk region. Selydove has been in the line of fire since 2014, when Russian-backed rebels captured the region’s capital, as well as other places in the area.

Last week, Selydove was also the target of Russian air strikes, reported Filashkin at the time on his Telegram page. One person is said to have died and seven others were injured. Dozens of apartments and houses were damaged, Filashkin wrote.
