– Our air defense shot down several rockets over Belgorod and the Belgorod region as they approached the city, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said in the Telegram messaging service on Friday evening.
He stated that a man was killed when a house was hit and that four people were injured. Ten private homes were damaged and the water supply in the city of Belgorod was disrupted, according to Gladkov’s information.
In another statement, Russian authorities stated that “an attempt by the Kyiv regime to carry out a terrorist attack” was thwarted in Belgorod and that 13 rockets were shot down.
The Ukrainian Defense Ministry posted a video on Telegram, which the Ukrainian military said showed the sky above Belgorod and at least one building on fire.
On Saturday morning, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that the Air Defense Forces also destroyed a total of 32 Ukrainian drones in the regions of Bryansk and Kursk, as well as Oryol and in the Moscow region. Six of the drones were shot down in the Bryansk region, according to Governor Aleksandr Bogomaz. No one was killed or injured there, he adds.
