Soviet and Russian actress, People’s Artist of the USSR Vera Vasilyeva died at the age of 97. This is reported TASS.

Vera Kuzminichna Vasilyeva was born on September 30, 1925 in Moscow. In 1948 she graduated from the Moscow City Theater School at the Theater of the Revolution (later became part of the State Institute of Theater Arts, now GITIS). Since 1948, Vera Vasilyeva worked in the troupe Theater of satire. In the theater she has played more than 60 roles.
The actress made her film debut in 1945 as a student in the film Konstantin Yudin «Twins“, and Nastya’s next role in the musical comedy Ivan Pyriev «The legend of the land of Siberia” Made Vasilyeva a celebrity. For this work, the actress was awarded the Stalin Prize.
