Inna Churikova, People’s Artist of the USSR, has died, TASS reported, referring to the director of the Lenkom Mark Zakharov Theater, Mark Varshaver, BTA reports.
Churikova, 79, died in hospital.
She was born in October 1943 and began acting in the cinema as a student.
In 1973, at the invitation of Mark Zakharov, he performed a leading role in the production “Til” in the Moscow theater “Lenkom”, where he worked for almost half a century.
She starred in over 60 feature and television films, some of which were directed by her husband Gleb Panfilov.
Churikova has been honored with a number of awards, including the “Silver Bear” from the Berlin Film Festival for the leading female role in the film “Military Romance”.
Her performance in the film “Vasa”, directed by her husband Gleb Panfilov, is also phenomenal. The pilgrimage to Churikova will take place at the Lenkom Mark Zakharov Theater on January 17, the director of the theater also announced.
