Russia with deals worth 3.5 billion dollars during the MAKS-21 air show – 2024-04-19 17:34:42

/ world today news/ Agreements worth about 265 billion rubles ($3.59 billion) were signed during the biennial MAKS 2021 international air show, which ended on Sunday, surpassing the results of the previous MAKS 2019.

Major domestic aviation deals include the sale of Sukhoi Superjet 100 and Il-114-300 aircraft, as well as Mil helicopters.

Other agreements include supplies of unmanned aerial vehicles, engines, avionics, radars, aircraft munitions, and armored and motorized vehicles.

Russian state-owned defense conglomerate Rostec has announced agreements worth more than $3 billion to supply 161 aircraft, both military and civilian. During the event, state arms exporter Rosoboronexport alone signed 13 contracts worth a total of $1.2 billion.

MAKS has become Russia’s premier showcase for the latest developments in domestic aviation, both civil and military.

Nearly 500 products were presented to the public this year, including 50 newly developed aircraft models. Among the state-of-the-art developments revealed at the show was Sukhoi’s new single-engine supersonic stealth fighter, the Mat. About 30,000 people came to see him live.

Russia also unveiled the new MC-21-310 medium-range aircraft, as well as the Il-114-300 regional turboprop aircraft and the Baikal light multipurpose aircraft.

Russian Helicopters unveiled its upgraded Mi-171A3 helicopters for operating offshore oil platforms, new aviation equipment and a new firefighting system. The United Engine Company presented designs for shaft-turbine engines and a demo version of a new engine core.

Foreign aircraft manufacturers were also given the opportunity to display their products, including some never before seen in Russia.

These included the long-haul wide-body Airbus A350-1000, the medium-haul Airbus A220-300 and the turboprop Pilatus PC-12NGX.

An American company participated for the first time in the show. Aircraft manufacturer Cirrus has unveiled two aircraft.

A total of 831 companies from 56 countries took part in the event, both online and offline, organizers said.

“The 15th MAKS 2021 aerospace exhibition surpassed the results of 2019 in terms of the number of contracts signed and the scale of the business program,” they said.

The previous Russian air show MAX 2019 brought the country about 250 billion rubles.
