Russia Will Continue to Attack Ukraine Without Mercy

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

President Vladimir Putin swear Russia will continue to carry out military operations in Ukraine without mercy.

Putin promised his troops would continue to fight against what he called “nationalists” in Ukraine, even though Russia has now been punished by the world with sanctions and embargoes on many sectors of the invasion.

Russia intends to continue its uncompromising war against insurgents of nationalist armed groups,” Putin said during a telephone call with French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday (3/3).

Putin has even threatened to increase demands on Ukraine as a condition of peace if it appears there is an attempt to hold back and slow down talks between Moscow and Kiev.

“Slowing down conflict talks will only lead to additional demands from our country on Kiev at the negotiating table,” Putin warned Macron.

Quoted AFPPutin also emphasized that he did not like to hear the contents of Macron’s speech yesterday about the conflict in Ukraine.

In response to Putin, Macron warned Russia had made a “big mistake” in Ukraine.

According to Macron, Putin has lied to himself about his claim to Ukraine, which Moscow has used as a pretext for launching an invasion.

Macron warned Putin that a Russia-Ukraine war would cost Russia a big loss in the long run.

“Nothing that President Putin said can convince us,” Macron was quoted as saying by an adviser.

“You are lying to yourself. It will cost your country a lot, your country will end up isolated, weakened and under sanctions for a very long time,” Macron added to Putin.

Ukraine continues to be under pressure on the eighth day of the Russian invasion. Russia has again attacked a number of Ukrainian cities, especially in the south of the former Soviet Union.

Russia has even taken control of Kherson as of today. Kherson is one of the important cities in Ukraine which plays a strategic role.

This city is at the entrance of the Black Sea with a population of nearly 300 thousand inhabitants. Russian troops are also increasingly besieging Mariupol in southern Ukraine.

Ukrainian military officers said Mariupol’s condition had become increasingly critical due to the Russian attack and assisted by separatist troops from Donetsk since Wednesday (2/3).
