MOSCOW, Mar 16 – RIA News. The government decided to temporarily restrict the entry of foreigners and stateless persons into Russia due to the spread of coronavirus.

The restriction will enter into force on March 18 and will last until May 1. It does not apply to truck drivers transporting goods, as well as to diplomats and permanent residents of Russia. In addition, ship and train crews will be able to cross the border.

According to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, these measures are consistent with the recommendations of the World Health Organization. He recalled that the restrictions were caused by special circumstances, and emphasized that they were only temporary.
