Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Presidential Office Russia, Kremlin, emphasizes Western countries such as United States of America and European Union shouldn’t just blame them for all the problems.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia, which had always been concerned about Europe, finally realized that its country was often blamed for all the problems between the two sides.
“Russia, which has always cared deeply for Europe, has finally come to its senses and please stop thinking of Russia as the culprit of all the problems,” Peskov told reporters on Thursday (11/18).
Not only that, Peskov also said that Europe should solve the source of the main problems that are currently “strangling” the region.
Peskov’s comments come at a time when tensions between Russia and the West are rising, particularly over Ukraine and the immigrant crisis on the Belarus-Polish border.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Wednesday (17/11) warned Russia about increasing military deployments on the border near Ukraine and Poland.
“Recently, there have been a lot of controversial publications in the UK. Russia is not waging any war,” Peskov was quoted as saying. AFP.
NATO and the United States have criticized the deployment of Russian troops on the Ukrainian border in recent times, especially since Moscow annexed Crimea from Kiev in 2014.
Later, Russia reportedly returned to deploying military forces to the border with Ukraine. So far, Russia has been accused of supporting separatist groups on the Ukrainian border.
“Russia’s aggressiveness has increased tremendously in recent weeks,” said Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.
In order to reduce the Russian threat, Ukraine is negotiating with Western countries to supply additional weapons to its military.
Meanwhile, the refugee crisis on the borders of Belarus and Poland continues to worsen.
Europe accuses Belarus of persuading refugees, mostly from the Middle East, Afghanistan and Africa, to flood into European countries in retaliation for sanctions imposed by the European Union on human rights violations.
Europe has also accused Russia of being involved in the migrant crisis by supporting Belarus.
