The prosecutor’s office claims that the game does not correspond to the “traditional values of contemporary Russian society”, “contains false information about the activities of state authorities at the time” and “denies historical facts and glorifies representatives of the Czechoslovak legions”. According to her, this can damage the “mental and social health of children”.

Since its invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Moscow has intensified its fight against what it calls Western values. At the same time, it is hitting the media and foreign internet services harder, and is in contention with a number of technology companies.

The developers of Last Train Home invite players to embark on a “desperate mission deep into the war-torn wasteland and unforgiving landscape of Siberia.” According to them, the game depicts the experiences of Czechoslovak legionnaires and their determination to return to the newly established Czechoslovak Republic after the First World War.

The story is inspired by real events. It was created in cooperation with the Czechoslovak legionary community. The main advisor is Captain František Langer, played by Karel Dobrý. “He is a doctor, soldier, writer and playwright whom they trust and who guides them. Even in extreme and borderline situations, he can keep a cool head,” Dobrý described his role some time ago.

In Last Train Home, the player’s task is not only to take care of his soldiers, but also to take care of the train itself. One of the main parts of the game, which takes place in different biomes, is the strategic battles, where the player with a small unit of ten men must face a large force.
