The latest findings on explosions on the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines, published by the American journalist Seymour Hersh, deserve to be discussed at emergency NATO summit. This was stated by the spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, quoted by TASS.
“Many facts were presented: pipeline explosions, (clear) motives and circumstantial evidence obtained by journalists. So, when will an emergency NATO summit meet to analyze the situation?she asked rhetorically.
On February 8, investigative journalist Seymour Hersh published an article stating, citing a familiar source, that explosives had been planted under Russia’s Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines from US Navy divers under the guise of exercise Baltops in June. It is said that US President Joe Biden personally authorized the operation.

For his part, US State Department spokesman Ned Price said that The United States denies involvement in the explosions of Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 and believe that their explanations on the matter are credible. He called the theory put forth by Hersh, Bullshit.
Three leaks in Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 were discovered within a few hours on September 26.
The first of them was detected on Nord Stream 2 near the Danish island of Bornholm. Two Nord Stream leaks were then recorded. The Danish Energy Agency reported that a large amount of gas had entered the sea.
Later Swedish seismologists reportedthat they registered two explosions along the pipeline routes.

A few days later the Swedish Coast Guard discovered a fourth leak on the facilities.
Both Sweden and Denmark, which they conducted an investigation, they concludedthat the four Nord Stream leaks 1 and 2 are caused by explosions. However, they did not specify who might be responsible for the accident.
Western leaders called the incident a deliberate act of “sabotage”aiming to disrupt Europe’s energy infrastructure and supplies.
From his side Russia blamed the West for the explosions.
