Russia vows “tough” response to Ukrainian attacks on civilian infrastructure – RADIO MARAY

Russia has promised a strong response to recent Ukrainian attacks on civilian infrastructure in several Russian regions, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said. Zakharova condemned what she called “barbaric terrorist acts” aimed at destroying civilian facilities and spreading fear among the population.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Zakharova warned that those responsible for these crimes, both in Ukraine and abroad, “will be held accountable,” and assured that the response of the Russian Armed Forces “will not be long in coming.”

The most recent attack took place in the Kursk region, where 14 drones and four Tochka-U missiles were shot down overnight, local authorities said. The attack left 15 people injured and caused damage to several buildings. Another 16 drones were intercepted in the Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh and Oryol regions, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

The situation in the Kursk region has been particularly tense, with clashes between Russian and Ukrainian forces leading to a mass exodus of civilians. At least 84,000 people have reportedly left their homes in areas close to the Ukrainian border in recent days. Authorities in Belgorod also reported evacuations in some towns amid fears of further attacks.

This development underscores the escalation of the conflict, with both sides engaged in intense clashes in the border region, raising growing concerns for the safety of civilians in the affected areas.
