Russia vows to respond to Crimean bridge attacks

(EFE).- Russia assured this Saturday that it will not leave the Ukrainian attacks against the Crimean bridge unanswered, after denouncing Kiev’s attempts to hit the infrastructure with S-200 missiles on at least two occasions today.

“We strongly condemn these terrorist attacks. The Crimean bridge is a purely civilian infrastructure object,” said Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zajárova.

According to Zajárova, these “barbaric actions have no justification” and “will not go unanswered.”

Previously, the Russian Defense Ministry and the Crimean authorities reported at least two missile attacks against the Crimean bridge throughout the day today.

This morning, the Russian military also reported the destruction of about twenty drones that were launched over Crimea.

The Crimean bridge has become a priority target for the Ukrainian Army and has been damaged twice.

The last attack against the infrastructure took place on July 17, when the bridge, the longest in Europe, was attacked by naval drones.

For this reason, Russia limited the navigation of all surface and submarine ships, as well as the anchoring of any type of vessel in the areas surrounding the bridge.

On the other hand, Ukrainian forces have managed to repel heavy Russian artillery attacks on several fronts, according to a report from the Ukrainian general staff on Saturday.

The Russians have launched artillery strikes and airstrikes on virtually every battlefront, according to the report.

By land, the Russians have tried to advance in Kupianks, Bakhmut, Awdijiwka and Marinka but have managed to be contained by the Ukrainian defenders.

In addition, there have been attacks in the Sumi region near the border, where the regional administration said via Telegram there were nine attacks throughout Friday.
