Moscow, Jul 17 (EFE) .- Russia today urged dialogue in Lebanon in order to find a broad national consensus on solving the acute problems in the country and form a government after the resignation of Saad Hariri as designated prime minister after nine months without being able to achieve it.

“We urge a solution through dialogue on all the acute issues on the domestic political agenda by the Lebanese themselves in the legal field, in order to achieve a broad consensus without external interference,” the Russian Ministry said in a statement. of Exteriors.

Moscow considers counterproductive “the attempts of some external forces to stimulate purely internal political processes with the threat of sanctions,” added Russian diplomacy.

“We hope that in the near future, after relevant consultations between the Lebanese president, Michel Aoun, and the country’s Parliament, an agreement will be reached on the candidacy of a new head of government,” said Foreign spokeswoman María Zajárova.

He added that for Russia it is a “concern” that during the nine months in which it has not been able to form a government “the difficult socio-economic situation in the country has worsened.”

“We consider the stable and effective functioning of all branches of power and state institutions in Lebanon a guarantee to ensure its national sovereignty and territorial integrity, which Russia traditionally supports,” Moscow emphasizes.

Lebanon is once again faced with uncertainty, after the resignation of Hariri as designated prime minister after nine months without being able to form a government, and without expectations that an executive could soon be agreed to take the reins of the country amid the upsurge of the economic crisis.
